Matthew 25 Food Bank a much valued community service

Jayson Baxter who is the current Keeper of the Sconestone kindly loaned out the Sconestone last night so that it could be present while a local hockey team, the West Hants Rockets presented the food and money they had collected during a recent food drive to the Matthew 25 Food Bank.

Logan MacGillivary, a 10yr old from Nova Scotia organized sending a 40 ft shipping container full of educational, building, and recreation materials to Sierra Leone to aid in rebuilding seven schools.

If one ordinary person can make such a difference at such a young age, just imagine what we can do collectively! What an inspiring story...

This is one of those golden old sayings that we have all heard at some point. Probably as a child or young teen. BUT, this old saying still rings true and I would like to share this story that is real and not made for "TV." People who helped each other simply from the goodness of their hearts. Now, that is kindness!!!

Since, We can not bring the Sconestone to everyone in a few short days, I have now shared the Sconestone and its message virtually with over 500 people virtually through web contacts. I hope that this idea of kindness can become viral.

Being the keeper of the Sconestone is a humbling experience. My Wife Crystal and are proud to have to opportunity to share the stone with others. So far our sharing has been on individual basis, but we are planning on larger gatherings.

Windsor, Nova Scotia - Thank you Mark for the Olympic Mittens

My search for a pair of Olympic mittens was starting to resemble a quest for the Holy Grail. Everywhere I looked in Nova Scotia for these cute mittens was met with failure. Sold out, sold out and yet again, sold out.
