My search for a pair of Olympic mittens was starting to resemble a quest for the Holy Grail. Everywhere I looked in Nova Scotia for these cute mittens was met with failure. Sold out, sold out and yet again, sold out. Mark Smith, a father of one of Skye and Iona's friends is the Coach of Canada's Women's Softball Team. He was heading to Vancouver just before Christmas for a team meeting and had some of his girls out there check the shops for them. JACKPOT!!! Mark returned home with the elusive mittens. Thank you so much Mark for taking the time to organize this, it was really kind of you. We shall be joining in with all Canadians to cheer on our athletes this February, and will be wearing our mittens with pride.
