After sharing some great times and excellent company with the Sconestone, I took it for its last outing with me as Keeper to the very south of Germany, the little town of Waldshut-Tiengen, where my very dear friends Linda and Wolfgang live. As they are among the kindest and most hospitable people I know, and love Scotland, its people and its history (and Runrig), it seemed apropriate to share the Stone with them before handing it over to the next Keeper. Here's a picture of them with the Sconestone, at their dining-table, the heart of their home and the scene of many excellent and very happy meals together with their local and international friends - a good symbol of their generosity and hospitality, and their inspiringly positive approach to life, despite all its hardships. The Sconestone will be leaving with another lovely layer to what Warren thinks of as its 'aura', growing over time as it moves around on its journey.
I'm grateful to have been part of that journey and very happy indeed to hand the Sconestone now to its next Keeper, Lionel Morel of France, who will take the Stone to new people and places.
