SCONESTONE AMBASSADORS
The ambassador program has been established to provide keepers who receive the stone, wherever they may be in the world, with support from a local Sconestone ambassador. These ambassadors will provide advice to keepers on what activities they may consider to do with the stone, what events they may want to consider organizing, how to get local media interested in the Journey of Kindness, how to tell their story on the Sconestone website and then finally to provide advise on selecting the next keeper.
Tamas Szalay - Eastern Europe:
Tamas lives near Budapest in Hungary and was the 6th keeper of the Sconestone. Tamas was a whirlwind of activity when he had the stone and was amazing at not only organizing events and media, but also at assisting the next two keepers after him. When his time with the stone was over he travelled all the way to Deva, Romania to hand the stone off to Bojte Csaba, the 7th keeper, and then when Bojte's time was over with the stone, Tamas travelled all the way to Komarno, Slovakia to hand the stone to Maria Kanthova, the 9th keeper of the stone. Tamas and his wife Judit are incredible supporters of the Journey of Kindness and will continue to be a pillar of support for future keepers in Eastern Europe.
Mary Coat - Western Europe:
Mary is actually a cousin of Warren's and although she originally hails from Fort William in Scotland, she now lives in beautiful France. Mary is an interpreter by profession and has an amazing talent for languages with fluency in English, French, Italian, a working knowledge of German and a smattering of Russian. Mary is great fun and has a sense of humour that always brings a smile to those around her. The perfect candidate for being an ambassador of the Sconestone and we look forward to Mary supporting future keepers in Western Europe.
Jack Hess - Northeast United States:
Jack hails from Peru, Indiana in the United States and was the 4th keeper of the Sconestone. Jack is quite a character and not only drove all the way to from Indiana to New York to pick up the Sconestone from the 3rd keeper, Barbara Mahon, but after he returned home to Indiana, he drove all the way back to New York again to deliver the stone to Bobby O'Neil, the 5th keeper of the stone. Jack was never still when he had the stone and even managed to get the mayor of Peru and the governor of Indiana to declare days of kindness in the name of the stone. The Sconestone team are proud to introduce Jack as a Sconestone ambassador and look forward to Jack supporting future keepers in the Northeast United States.
