The Saint Francis Foundation in Transylvania, Romania and the Saint Francis Foundation of Deva, Hungary were founded by our seventh keeper of the Sconestone, Father Csaba Bojte, a Franciscan Brother.  After becoming a Franciscan brother and moving to Deva, Romania, Csaba became moved by the extreme poverty of the children and his conscience urged him to adopt a few street-children and moved them all into the abandoned local Franciscan monastery to live together. The story of the Franciscan brother adopting orphans quickly got around in Deva and throughout Transylvania, to spread on in Romania, Hungary, Western-Europe, and even overseas. He still keeps gathering hopelessly poor children of movingly miserable backgrounds. He provides them not only with food, clothing and a home, but takes care of their education, their intellectual and spiritual development as well as their religious and moral instruction. He gives them love.
To date Father Csaba has adopted and fostered almost 1,500 children. An inspiration to all.

The Dorothy Kantha Fund was founded in Slovkia by our eighth keeper of the stone, Maria Kantha in loving memory of her dear grand daughter Dorothy who's short life was taken by cancer. The Foundation is protecting the rights of children who suffer from cancer and helps their recovery. It is aimed at improving the quality of healthcare, at the prevention of the disease, at making the fight against cancer more effective and at making the conditions better at which children afflicted with these illnesses are recovering.
